Key accomplishments:
- Between July 2006 and June 2007, Child Care Resources:
- provided child care referrals on behalf of 11,291 children to 8,296 families
- administered $43.6 million in child care subsidies to families of a monthly average of 8,111 children, enabling them to work or attend school full-time
- helped 10,722 training participants from the child care field increase their understanding of early care and education "best practices" by providing 1,808 hours of professional development services
- Between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007, Child Care Resources child care quality initiatives contributed to increases in the:
- number of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Union County children enrolled in 4 – 5 star rated programs (from 70% to 75%)
- percentage of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Union County programs with a 4 or 5 star ratings (from 53% to 55%)
- average star rating of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Union County child care programs by enrollment (from 3.82 to 3.95)
