Key accomplishments:
Between July 2010 and June 2011, Child Care Resources Inc.:
- provided child care referrals on behalf of 7,921 children to 5,906 families
- administered $46.6 million in child care subsidies to families of a monthly average of 7,624 children, enabling them to work or attend school full-time
- delivered training and/or technical assistance to 75% of all licensed child care programs in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties (and some license exempt programs) with a combined capacity to better serve 50,059 children birth through age 12.
Between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011, Child Care Resources Inc.’s quality initiatives contributed to increases in the:
- number of children in Region 6 (Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rowan & Stanly counties) enrolled in 4- and 5-star programs (rose from 84% to 86%)
- percentage of Region 6 programs (Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rowan and Stanly counties) with a 4- or 5-star rating (rose from 63% to 65%)
- average star rating of Region 6 child care programs (Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rowan and Stanly counties) by enrollment (rose from 4.20 to 4.28)
