Agency Accomplishments

Between July 2014 and June 2015, Child Care Resources Inc.:

  • provided child care referral services to 6,129 families on behalf of 9,740 children (birth through age 12) in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rowan and Stanly counties
  • administered $44.1 million in child care subsidies to families of a monthly average of 6,828 children in Mecklenburg County, enabling parents to work and/or attend school full-time
  • trained 4,306 practitioners (61% of workforce) in early care and education and school-age child care programs in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties
  • positively impacted children in 1,306 classrooms through technical assistance services delivered to 491 early care and education and school-age child care programs (54% of market) across Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties
  • delivered training and/or technical assistance to 84% of all licensed child care programs in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties (and some license-exempt programs)

Between July 2014 and June 2015, CCRI’s training and technical assistance initiatives contributed to program quality across the region, with these results:

  • 90% of children enrolled in star-rated child care attending higher-quality 4- and 5-star programs
  • 74% of star-rated programs were licensed at the 4- and 5-star levels
  • The average star rating of programs by enrollment was 4.45 (out of 5)
